Football Game Preview: Stuttgart Ricebirds vs. Star City Bulldogs

The Stuttgart Ricebirds will head out to take on the Star City Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Stuttgart has eight straight victories, Star City has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Stuttgart will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Warren, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Ricebirds secured a 59-55 W over the Lumberjacks on Friday. The Ricebirds' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Star City played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Hamburg and fell 63-14. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Lions are ranked 49th).

Star City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Stuttgart, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Stuttgart didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Star City in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-29 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bulldogs' Peyton Taylor, who rushed for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
