Baseball Game Preview: Brookville Bees vs. Heritage Pioneers

Brookville is 8-2 against Heritage since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bees will venture away from home to face off against the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Brookville will be strutting in after a win while Heritage will be coming in after a loss.

Brookville took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Jefferson Forest, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bees won by a run and slipped past the Cavaliers 1-0.

Not much got past Bryce Tolbert, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Jefferson Forest off the board. Tolbert has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brookville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Dowdy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Glass, falling 10-3.

Brookville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-19.

Everything went Brookville's way against Heritage in their previous meeting back in April, as Brookville made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bees since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
