Among those leading the charge was Shayleigh Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024. Makenna Miller was another key player, putting up four points along with eight assists and three blocks.
Anselmo-Merna smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mullen didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Brady on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 43-39 victory.
Anselmo-Merna better keep an eye on Peyton Paxton. She was instrumental in Mullen's win, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayley Donohoe, who almost dropped a double-double on nine rebounds and nine steals.
Anselmo-Merna is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Mullen, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Anselmo-Merna has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mullen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Anselmo-Merna strolled past Mullen in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Anselmo-Merna since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
