Baseball Recap: Chaminade Takes a Loss

Chaminade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 12-7 to the Marquette Mustangs. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly five runs.

Jacob Green was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Tommy Piazza was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Chaminade's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Marquette, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Chaminade will face off against Webster Groves at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Marquette, they are taking a road trip to take on Lindbergh at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.2, the Flyers 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
