Football Recap: DeKalb Tigers vs. St. Joseph Christian Lions
DeKalb couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the St. Joseph Christian Lions at home and fell 68-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 54-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.
DeKalb wouldn't let St. Joseph Christian keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. DeKalb can thank Blake Norton and Tanner Graber for forcing both of them. Graber's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making two total tackles.
DeKalb will challenge North Andrew at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Stewartsville at 7:00 p.m.
