After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rio Grande City, Mission was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cigarroa Toros as they made off with a 17-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Judith Arroyo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Ilia Fiscal was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.
