The Fletcher Senators will challenge the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Paxon School For Advanced Studies will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Fletcher extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Senators' pitchers stepped up to hand Fernandina Beach a 10-0 shutout.
Kayla Gwisz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Fletcher was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fernandina Beach only posted a batting average of .118.
Paxon School For Advanced Studies came out on top against Bishop Kenny on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Crusaders. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Hayley Hinds made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Hinds was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maleah Rouse, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Jada King was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Paxon School For Advanced Studies is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Fletcher, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
