Baseball Recap: Brewer Comes Up Short

Brewer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chisholm Trail Rangers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bears have suffered against the Rangers since April 11, 2017.

Colton Ryals was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last five matches.

On the hitting side, Tanner Pierce was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Jesse Orozco was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Brewer's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Chisholm Trail, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

While Brewer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
