Softball Game Preview: Madison Warhawks vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons

The Madison Warhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Madison's offense. They came up short against Canyon Hills on Tuesday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch got the win against University City on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-1.

Alina Grady was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eme Ledbetter was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Cole, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Scripps Ranch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Scripps Ranch has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
