Basketball Game Preview: Currituck County Knights vs. First Flight Nighthawks

Currituck County is 1-9 against First Flight since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Currituck County Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the First Flight Nighthawks at 8:00 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jamie Dance and Mason Dobie.

On Tuesday, Currituck County ended up a good deal behind Northeastern and lost 64-49. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Eagles are ranked 74th).

Meanwhile, First Flight earned a 74-65 victory over Pasquotank County on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Nighthawks.

First Flight's win came from a few key players Currituck County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dobie, who posted 22 points. The match was his 16th in a row with at least 15 points. Judah Carlyle was another key player, putting up 14 points.

First Flight's record is now 15-8. As for Currituck County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Currituck County lost to First Flight on the road by a decisive 74-55 margin in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Currituck County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
