Basketball Game Preview: Heber Springs Panthers vs. Morrilton Devil Dogs

Heber Springs is 1-9 against Morrilton since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Heber Springs Panthers will take on the Morrilton Devil Dogs at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Heber Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Heber Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Clinton, taking the game 55-48.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-31, which was the final score in Morrilton's tilt against Pulaski Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Devil Dogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Bruins are ranked eighth).

Heber Springs has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Morrilton, they now have a losing record at 12-13.

Heber Springs came up short against Morrilton when the teams last played back in January, falling 45-37. Can Heber Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
