Baseball Recap: Texico Has No Trouble Against Jal

Texico won the last time they faced Jal and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wolverines were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Wolverines have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Edgar Mendoza was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Texico is 3-1 when Mendoza posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Wyatte Ragsdale, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Texico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Texico and bumps their season record up to 3-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Jal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Texico will host Loving at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jal, they will venture away from home to take on Eunice at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
