Despite the defeat, Roosevelt saw an underclassman step up: Emma Curtis scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Curtis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Hall, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Roosevelt has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for McMinnville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Roosevelt will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Names Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Names Academy and Roosevelt are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. McMinnville will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Sandy at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. The timing isn't great for Sandy: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while McMinnville has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
