Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Beavers vs. Columbia River Rapids

The Woodland Beavers will head out to square off against the Columbia River Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Columbia River will be up against a hot Woodland team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Woodland blew past Hudson's Bay 71-10 on Tuesday. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Eagles are ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Columbia River was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Hockinson 68-26. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rapids.

Woodland is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Columbia River, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.

Woodland and Columbia River were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but Woodland came up empty-handed after a 42-41 loss. Can Woodland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
