West Shore recap Oct. 23, 2012
Avon extended the longest winning streak in West Shore this week by beating Rocky River, 42-21. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Bay and North Ridgeville played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Bay eventually emerging with a 13-12 victory. Jake Best threw for 26 yards and one touchdown in the win.
Midview's Cody Callaway and Eric Lauer have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Callaway has thrown for 1699 yards this season, while Lauer, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 34 catches for 738 yards. The Pirates' Martin Finnegan leads the league in rushing yards with 770.
A big matchup in West Shore this week will be when the Rockets take on the Middies. Bay is currently in sixth, while Midview is in first.
