Volleyball Recap: Upperman Falls Short Against Ranked Green Hill

Upperman faced Green Hill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bees lost 3-0 to the Hawks. The Bees' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-14.

Ty Kirby paced Upperman's offense, picking up 11 kills. Kirby got some help from Beau Naylor and his 15 assists. Naylor was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

George Stevens was his usual excellent self, getting 14 kills, six aces, three digs, and one block for Green Hill. Stevens is crushing it when it comes to aces: he's served at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mason Bryan, who had eight kills, five digs, three aces, and one block.

Upperman's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Green Hill, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

Upperman has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Siegel on the 5th. Green Hill has also already played their next match (against Valor College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
