The Philo Electrics will face off against the River View Black Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Philo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Philo and West Muskingum meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Electrics took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Electrics couldn't push the score so high this time.

Philo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Tom, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Tom's first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River View). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Claymont an 11-0 shutout on Saturday. The Black Bears haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Philo's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for River View, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Philo couldn't quite finish off River View in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 6-4. Can the Electrics avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
