Basketball Recap: Harlan Comes Up Short

Harlan lost against Knox Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Harlan Green Dragons were outmatched by the Knox Central Panthers and fell 79-41. While losing is never fun, the Green Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Panthers are ranked 19th).

Harlan's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Knox Central, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

Looking ahead, Harlan and Leslie County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Knox Central, they will take on Whitley County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Knox Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matchups -- so hopefully Whitley County likes a good challenge.
