Baseball Recap: Potomac School Wins Going Away Against Georgetown Day

Potomac School played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. Everything went their way against the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Potomac School got a great performance from Gavin Speigel as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Speigel has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jason Seeber, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Jake Adamec was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Potomac School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Potomac School's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Georgetown Day, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Potomac School will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mighty Hoppers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
