Basketball Preview: Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders vs. Frankfort Falcons
The Parkersburg Catholic Crusaders are on the road again on Saturday and plays the Frankfort Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Parkersburg Catholic is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in West Virginia (the Crusaders are ranked 33rd, while the Falcons are ranked 196th).
Parkersburg Catholic lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 62-35 loss at the hands of Ravenswood.
Meanwhile, Frankfort was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 47-43 to the Yellow Jackets.
Parkersburg Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Frankfort, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Parkersburg Catholic strolled past the Falcons in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 50-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkersburg Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
