Softball Recap: Chazy Takes a Loss

Chazy couldn't beat Crown Point on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Eagles came up short against the Panthers, falling 20-5. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Wynter Jarus and Pender Bechard stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jarus got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI, while Bechard went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that Bechard has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Carly Lapierre, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Chazy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Crown Point, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Chazy will face off against rival Lake Placid at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Crown Point is set to take on their familiar foe Boquet Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
