Rochester came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Northfield Norsemen 51-14. Given the Zebras' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Norsemen are ranked 274th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Trenton Meadows and Brant Beck. Meadows gained 187 total yards and three touchdowns while Beck rushed for 137 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. The dominant performance also gave Meadows a new career-high in rushing yards (133). Another player making a difference was Jabez Yarber, who rushed for 48 yards and one TD.
Rochester was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 360 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Rochester's record is now 6-1. As for Northfield, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
