Montrose put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 55-6 victory over the Doherty Spartans. Given the Red Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Spartans are ranked 146th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montrose's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Doherty, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Montrose will face off against rival Mesa Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Doherty is set to challenge their familiar foe Falcon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
