Basketball Recap: Rhinelander's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

After losing to Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln the last time they met, Rhinelander decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rhinelander Hodags strolled past the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 63-45. Given the Hodags' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rhinelander's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rhinelander will challenge Northland Pines at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Rhinelander knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Northland Pines likes a good challenge. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln has already played their next matchup (against Wausau West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
