Recap: Thrive Academy Bulldogs vs. Westminster Christian Academy
The Thrive Academy Bulldogs's six-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Westminster Christian Academy out 28-25. The win was just what Thrive Academy needed coming off of a 33-6 loss in their prior game.
Thrive Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leonard Hicks out in front who picked up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Thrive Academy also got a significant boost from Keiron Ross, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 128 yards.
Westminster Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from David Beazley and Brock Stomps. Beazley picked up 144 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Stomps threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns.
Thrive Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
Thrive Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westminster Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against St. Edmund on Friday. St. Edmund will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
