Basketball Game Preview: Mundy's Mill Tigers vs. Jonesboro Cardinals

Mundy's Mill hasn't had much luck against Jonesboro recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mundy's Mill Tigers take on the Jonesboro Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Mundy's Mill didn't have quite enough to beat Drew and fell 64-62. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Mundy's Mill had strong showings from Ryan Babb, who posted 24 points, and Christopher Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Jonesboro had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They walked away with a 58-46 win over the Panthers.

Jonesboro's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Mundy's Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Mundy's Mill lost to Jonesboro on the road by a decisive 66-48 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Mundy's Mill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
