Basketball Recap: Padua Franciscan's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Kenston on Thursday, Padua Franciscan came back down to earth. The Padua Franciscan Bruins fell 72-64 to the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions on Friday. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Padua Franciscan's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Padua Franciscan will finish 2024 at home by hosting Holy Name at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will take on Gilmour Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gilmour Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin surely won't give up without a fight.
