Softball Recap: Meadowbrook Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Meadowbrook had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Cambridge Bobcats. 13 seems to be a good number for the Colts as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Addy Sichina was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Sommer Ginn was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Addie Schultice, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meadowbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambridge only managed five.

Meadowbrook's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Cambridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadowbrook will face off against Monroe Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cambridge, they will take on Buckeye Trail at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
