Basketball Recap: Wyatt Crego's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wood River over Idaho Falls

Wood River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. 2025 welcomed they with a 71-48 loss courtesy of the Idaho Falls Tigers. The Wolverines were down 61-37 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Wood River lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wyatt Crego, who posted 12 points. Crego is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Max Fife was another key player, putting up ten points.

Wood River's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Idaho Falls, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Wood River has already played their next match, a 78-41 defeat against Ogden on the 4th. As for Idaho Falls, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shelley at 7:30 p.m.
