Basketball Recap: Verndale Comes Up Short

Verndale was the 82-68 winner over Pine River-Backus when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Verndale Pirates fell 75-62 to the Pine River-Backus Tigers on Thursday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Verndale now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Pine River-Backus, they moved to 12-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Verndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pine River-Backus, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-49 defeat against Nevis on the 8th.
