Basketball Recap: Olney Takes a Loss

Olney lost against Nocona back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Olney Cubs were dealt a 79-16 defeat at the hands of the Nocona Indians. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1099th, while the Indians are ranked 203rd).

Olney's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Nocona, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Olney will host Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Seymour knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Olney likes a good challenge. As for Nocona, they will head out to challenge Windthorst at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Windthorst will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Nocona surely won't give up without a fight.
