Volleyball Recap: Upsala Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Sierra Bense and Alexa Pilarski

Upsala lost against Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 2-1. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Upsala started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-17, 18-16.

Upsala's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexa Pilarski, who had 13 digs, and Sierra Bense, who had 14 assists and six digs. Bense is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Upsala's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia], the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

Upsala wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Brandon/Evansville on the 16th. Hopefully Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] paid attention to the Cardinals' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
