Softball Recap: Gilroy Falls Short of King's Academy in the Playoffs

Gilroy and King's Academy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Gilroy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in March.

Ariela Yslava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

Gilroy's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for King's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Gilroy nor King's Academy have any future games scheduled.
