The Miami Trace Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Carroll Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Miami Trace is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

14 must be Miami Trace's lucky number: they beat Goshen with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Panthers beat the Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-11. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging 3.71 runs allowed.

Xavier Lawhorn looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin T Brown and Gage Bowers did most of the damage at the plate: Brown went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Bowers went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Brown is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Brody McBee was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Carroll got the win against Stebbins on Saturday by a conclusive 8-1. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Miami Trace and bumps their season record up to 16-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Carroll, their record is now 4-13-1.

Everything went Miami Trace's way against Carroll when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Miami Trace made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
