Basketball Recap: Parrish Community Falls Despite Big Games from Romana Lind and Jayna Bowen

Parrish Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Manatee Hurricanes on the road by a 38-22 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-26 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Parrish Community had strong showings from Jayna Bowen, who posted eight points along with ten boards and five steals, and Romana Lind, who had six points in addition to 12 rebounds and three steals. That was a full 36.4% of Parrish Community's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Parrish Community's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Manatee, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Parrish Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-40 victory against Freedom on the 4th. As for Manatee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-38 loss against Venice on the 4th.
