Basketball Recap: Galeton Takes a Loss

Galeton lost against Otto-Eldred back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Galeton Tigers were outmatched by the Otto-Eldred Terrors and fell 81-26. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while the Terrors are ranked 95th).

Despite the loss, Galeton still got an impressive performance from Braden WARD, who posted five points. EARL PIQUE also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

Galeton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Otto-Eldred, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0.

Galeton will host Smethport at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Galeton is facing Smethport at the right time seeing as Smethport is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Otto-Eldred, they will head out to square off against Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Otto-Eldred's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Austin's offense will have their work cut out for them.
