Crystal Lake South and McHenry are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Gators will head out to square off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Crystal Lake South is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Chicago University 21-2 on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Gators with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, McHenry came tearing into Saturday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Skyhawks. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by just one run.

McHenry pushed their record up to 21-2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Crystal Lake South, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

Crystal Lake South beat McHenry 4-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
