Soccer Game Preview: Cheney vs. Medical Lake

The Cheney Blackhawks will take on the Medical Lake Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cheney has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Medical Lake will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Wednesday, Cheney didn't have quite enough to beat Ridgeline and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Medical Lake won against Riverside on Tuesday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. The Cardinals walked away with a 3-1 victory over Colville. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Medical Lake's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Colville are ranked 228th).

Medical Lake's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Cheney, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Cheney beat Medical Lake by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 2-1. Do the Blackhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
