Basketball Recap: Jacen Farr's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Challis over Watersprings

Challis lost against Watersprings back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Challis Vikings lost 57-36 to Watersprings.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacen Farr, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Farr is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ramey Rhoades, who posted ten points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Challis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Watersprings was led to victory by Titus Driver and Korban Nelson. Driver dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 boards, while Nelson went 9-for-16 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Driver a new career-high in blocks (seven). Ryan Demkowicz was another key player, putting up seven points.

Challis' defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Watersprings, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.

Challis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-47 win against Taylor's Crossing on the 14th. As for Watersprings, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-22 victory against Leadore on the 14th.
