Basketball Game Preview: Hammond Central Wolves vs. Crown Point Bulldogs

The Hammond Central Wolves and the Crown Point Bulldogs will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hammond Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Hammond Central ended up a good deal behind East Chicago Central and lost 64-49.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Marcus Browder and Dominique Murphy. Murphy had a great game and dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Browder was balling out in the loss, going 11 of 22 on his way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Crown Point put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Michigan City 77-51. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Crown Point's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Hammond Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Hammond Central suffered a grim 64-40 defeat to Crown Point in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Hammond Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
