Callaway gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 39-0 victory over the Provine Rams. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Duran McClendon went supernova for Callaway, rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. McClendon's longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Marvin Moore, who rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Moore wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Callaway was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2023.
