Saddle Brook extended the longest winning streak in North Jersey - Meadowlands this week by beating Palisades Park/Leonia, 21-14. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
The Tigers moved up to 160 from 204 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Palisades Park/Leonia was able to make the jump by beating Palisades Park/Leonia 21-14.
North Arlington's dynamic duo of Angelo Nocciolo and Mike Brazzel proved tough for Waldwick/Midland Park to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nocciolo threw for 363 yards and four touchdowns and Brazzel had 148 yards receiving. Nicholas Martin helped North Arlington's passing attack out by catching four balls for 112 yards.
Charles Simons was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 51 yards on 20 carries as the Tigers fell to the Warriors. Taj Huggins also contributed to the rushing game with 35 yards on the ground.
North Arlington's Nocciolo and Brazzel have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading North Jersey - Meadowlands in both passing and receiving yards. Nocciolo has thrown for 997 yards this season, while Brazzel, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 15 catches for 372 yards. Hasbrouck Heights's Anthony Seidel leads the league in rushing yards with 471.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Saddle Brook takes on the Vikings. The Falcons are in first place, while North Arlington is in seventh place.
Waldwick/Midland Park was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Greg Gruzdis's team beat the Vikings 54-33 earlier in the week.
