Volleyball Recap: Butler Starts Season with Victory Against Cathedral Prep

Butler took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cathedral Prep Ramblers 3-2. The Golden Tornado have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Ramblers, too.

Butler wouldn't go down easily and took Cathedral Prep into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 15-10.

Cathedral Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Moore, who had 28 digs. Moore has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played. Kamryn Resurreccion was another key player, getting 28 assists and five digs.

Looking ahead, Butler is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cathedral Prep, they will take on Ursuline at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
