Basketball Game Preview: Moriah Vikings vs. Schroon Lake Wildcats

The Moriah Vikings will head out to challenge the Schroon Lake Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Moriah knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Schroon Lake likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, everything went Moriah's way against Northern Adirondack as Moriah made off with a 74-53 victory. The Vikings pushed the score to 61-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Cooper Allen was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was his 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase McGinness, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Schroon Lake beat Chazy 44-38 on Thursday. The 44-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Moriah's record is now 7-2. As for Schroon Lake, their record now sits at 5-2.

Moriah strolled past Schroon Lake in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 70-56. Will Moriah repeat their success, or does Schroon Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
