Football Recap: Permian Panthers vs. Eastlake Falcons        
        
		
             On Friday, the Permian Panthers beat the Eastlake Falcons 56-49. Given the Panthers' advantage  in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings  (they are ranked 128th, while the Falcons are ranked 442nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
  Gavin Black was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in  total yards.  John Paul Uranga was in the mix  as well, providing Permian with two touchdowns.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Permian was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 425  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastlake only rushed for 179.
 Permian's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of  Ian Rylee and  Caleb Cruz.
 Despite the loss, Eastlake still got an impressive performance from   Luke Lomeli, who threw for 423 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. With that strong performance,  Lomeli is now averaging an impressive 353  passing yards per game.  Steven Galindo was another key player, gaining 101 total yards and a touchdown.
 Permian's victory was  their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Eastlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Permian will be playing in front of their home fans against Abilene  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Eastlake, they will challenge Liberty Hill at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
