Recap: Winner Warriors vs. Corsica/Stickney Jaguars
The Winner Warriors stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past Corsica/Stickney 54-22 at home. Given Winner's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Jaguars are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cici Watson, who scored 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watson has scored all season. Ava Craven was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Winner has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Corsica/Stickney, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winner won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Rustlers at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th.
