Basketball Recap: Bryson Saner Key Part of a Team Effort in Hornets Win

There's no place like home for Valley Center, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 55-51 victory over the Newton Railroaders on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Valley Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryson Saner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Saner a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Colby J Newton, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points.

Valley Center's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Newton, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
