Basketball Recap: Edison's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Edison played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Jefferson Mustangs, falling 54-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Bears have suffered since December 5, 2024.

Trey Perez was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 13 en route to 23 points and six rebounds for Jefferson. Perez's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rafael Gonzalez, who posted ten points.

Edison's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-16. As for Jefferson, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Highlands the next time they take the court. Jefferson will head out to face Highlands at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Edison will host them at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th.
