Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Va'shon Washington and Tylin Jenkins Lead Hannah-Pamplico to Victory

Hannah-Pamplico hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 46-31 victory over the Hemingway Tigers on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-45 last Wednesday.

Hannah-Pamplico was led to victory by Tylin Jenkins and Va'Shon Washington. Jenkins went 7 of 11 en route to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Washington went 7 for 12 to rack up 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Those 14 points gave Washington a new career-high.

Hemingway's loss came despite strong showings from Nasir Brooks and Jamer Wright. Brooks went 6 for 13 on his way to 13 points, while Wright posted five points and eight rebounds. Brooks is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-10. As for Hemingway, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Hannah-Pamplico didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-40 defeat against Green Sea Floyds on the 6th. As for Hemingway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-43 victory against Lake View on the 5th.
