Baseball Game Preview: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. Bishop Verot Vikings

The Sebring Blue Streaks will face off against the Bishop Verot Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sebring is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

If Sebring beats Bishop Verot with six runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Sebring had just enough and edged out DeSoto County 6-5 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Streaks have posted against the Bulldogs since March 13, 2018.

Dalton Todd looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sebring let Coby Moesching and Roman Giovanetti run wild. Moesching scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Giovanetti scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Giovanetti a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Arnan, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Verot). They never let Palmetto get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Sebring's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Bishop Verot, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
